The results of the juniors are good, but they are not playing well/ we want the right direction

In an interview with Mehr reporter, Farzad Ashobi said about the results of the Iranian youth team in the World Cup qualifiers under 17 years of age: I think the results of the youth team are acceptable at the level of the World Cup games. However, we must consider the current human potential and realize that a very wonderful generation of players is entering the Iranian football cycle. We had the best generation in the youth, but we saw that the least time was spent on them and we got the worst results. The same thing happened in hopes.

The basic football coach at Persepolis club added: “The youth have achieved good results, which should be praised, but we should have a much broader strategy for this purpose.” We have to accept that world football is miles away from us, even with the win we had against a team like Brazil.

In response to the fact that the scientific development of grassroots football goes back to the head coach of the teams or the federation, he emphasized: The technical committee must determine the overall strategy for grassroots football. Is it possible to play football that no player likes? If we don’t have a local or international football philosophy, we will definitely remain on the path full of mistakes and repetition of longing for competitions such as the Olympics or the elimination stage of the World Cup.

He emphasized: “Definitely, basic football needs a specific path to be taught according to the same demand to reach a high level of attractiveness among young people.” A player under the age of 17 is far more malleable than players over the age of 24. We must nurture them in the right way so that they can get decent results. There is no problem if we accept a failure in the path of foresight because we have to pay for it.

At the end, Ashubi noted: National players are at the base level of national capital. We should not leave them alone. They should be taught professional life to the extent that they appreciate it. One should not expect common sense and away from emotions from such players.
