The rise in the price of gasoline and the continued interruption of the Internet in Lebanon


According to the report of the International Economic Group of Fars News Agency, quoted by Lebanon 24The disconnection of telephone and internet lines in many parts of Lebanon, which is affiliated to the Ojiro organization – the executive arm of the Ministry of Communications of this country, has continued since a week ago.

The Lebanese media, quoting sources from the country’s telecommunications sector, report that if Ojiro’s employees do not withdraw from the strike, the country will be caught in a real vortex, because telecommunications is the main factor in the management of various sectors in Lebanon.

At the same time, these sources say that there is a possibility of resolving the dispute between the Ojiro organization’s staff union and the government before next Thursday.

These sources say that with the series of meetings that Ojiro organization officials had with the relevant parties, reaching a solution and answering the demands of Ojiro employees is close, and the telephone and internet services of this organization in Lebanon will be resumed soon.

At the same time, the private companies providing internet are trying if Ojiro does not reach an agreement with the Lebanese government.

Ojiro says that the salary of two to three million liras of this organization’s employees is no longer enough to buy gas to get to their workplace, and therefore he has been demanding for months to improve the salary situation of his employees.

The increase in exchange rates and gasoline prices in Lebanon

On the other hand, George Albrax, a member of the Union of Fuel Stationers in Lebanon, says: the increase in the exchange rate in the exchanges has directly affected the price of fuel, and the price of a 20-liter gallon of gasoline has become six thousand liras more expensive today, Monday, and due to several factors in the price of fuel This amount can still be increased.

Most of the cities of Akkar province in northern Lebanon are witnessing the disconnection of mobile phone and internet lines connected to the Alpha network, which is considered one of the main mobile phone service networks in this country.

Lebanese sources say that the reason for this is the lack of diesel fuel and the disconnection of electricity from a number of electricity distribution stations in this province.

Citizens of Tripoli, Lebanon also complained today about the disconnection of the internet belonging to Alfa company from their devices.

On the other hand, the Lebanese media reports that a large number of currency dealers are buying and selling on the side of the streets in different cities while they have a large amount of dollars and Lebanese lira at their disposal.

Lebanon is facing a shortage of electricity due to the lack of fuel for the two power plants “Al-Zahrani” and “Deir Ammar”.

The livelihood and economic crisis in Lebanon, affected by the country’s urgent need for fuel, has made the life of the country’s citizens increasingly tense.

Sanctions against Lebanon have reduced the value of the country’s currency, and the lack of fuel imports for its two power plants has put the country into intermittent blackout cycles.
