According to Mehr’s reporter, the second season of “Mastoran” series, directed by Seyed Ali Hashemi, which is a romance based on ancient Iranian stories and legends, will be broadcast on Ik Sima channel from 28 December. “Mastoran” is a product of Oj Media Art Organization, prepared and produced in Badban Studio. This series was created with a mythological story and it is based on the atmosphere of ancient Persian stories. The first season of this series was directed by Masoud Abparvar and Seyyed Jamal Seyyhatami, and Ali Hashemi directed the second season.
On the eve of the broadcast of the series, Seyyed Ali Hashemi told Mehr reporter about how he took on the responsibility of directing this series: I was supposed to join this team as a programmer from the beginning, and Masoud Abparvar was in charge of directing the work. But for some reasons, this cooperation did not come to fruition. Due to Atta Panahi, the producer of the work, he trusted me with my work experience over the years and asked me to direct the work. It was a very interesting experience for me, and that’s why I accepted, and after that, choosing the actors, building the location, and working with the author and other production agents became key.
He said about the composition of actors in this season of the series: We tried to put the right combination of actors together. There are 2 main roles in the second season of “Mastoran” series, which are Lotfali played by Kaveh Khodashanas and Mahmounir played by Mahia Dehghani. In the past, I had worked with Kaveh Khodashanas in several series and he is one of my friends from university. I think this role was different for Kaveh Khodashanas and he has never played this way before. He has a multi-faceted personality that cannot be said to be completely positive or completely negative, because as much as Lotf Ali is a good and healthy person, he also has flaws and makes mistakes. Therefore, it has a multifaceted character.
He added: The games I had seen from Mahia Dehghani; In the second season of the “Najla” series, he had a short role in the “Midday Adventure” movie, and I think playing the role of Mahmunir can be a different character for him, the audience will also understand this by watching the series. The role of the Shah was also suggested to Behnam Tashkar and he played the role in a way that is completely unfamiliar to the audience. We believe that the characterization of this couple is good and attractive.
Hashemi explained about the other characters: Farhad Ayish is also present in the role of Molhasin and is a disciple of Lotf Ali and never talks about him. I was Farhad Ayish’s assistant in the theater for several years, and that’s why when I offered him, he accepted. In my opinion, he performed Molhasin in the best way. Fatemeh Guderzi is also present in the role of Nora. In season one, Nora was played by Elham Jafaranjad; But in season two, as 20 years had passed since that time, Fatemeh Guderzi agreed to appear in this role.
This director mentioned how much the choice of actors was in accordance with the initial prediction: From the beginning, we were looking for an ideal actor for the role of Lotf Ali. In my mind, Kaveh was a god. At that time, when we contacted him, he was busy with another series. For this reason, we entered into negotiations with other actors, we also auditioned until we reached Vahid Rahbani. He also appeared in front of the camera, but after 2-3 sessions, he fell off his horse during one of the riding exercises, so we had to search again for an actor to play the role of Lotf Ali. Kaveh Khodashanas came to my mind again and this time he was able to join us.
He added: Regarding the other actors, we first talked with Dariush Farhang for the role of Shah, because we wanted to remind the audience of the series “Sultan and Shaban” and create that mentality for him. He also accepted; Mentehi could not appear in the series due to the conflicts he had in the middle of the series, so we reached Behnam Tashkar. Because I had the experience of several other works with him, and I think his acting in this role was such that he was able to cope with the role and played it very attractively. Roya Miralami, Rabia Eskoui, Maryam Khademi, etc. are also among the actors whose roles have continued since the previous season, and I am sure that the audience will still like the roles of these actors.
Hashemi further said about the presence of new talents and lesser-seen actors in this series: Mohammad Sadiq Malek is one of the talented actors that we have rarely seen in the field of image. He plays the role of Kiavash in this series. Malek is a powerful actor in the theater, and the producer Atta Panahi and I trusted him to give him one of the main negative roles in the series. I am happy with this trust because I think a very good actor has been introduced to the country’s cinema and television.
He added: We also have a role called Wolf played by Milad Mirzaei. A complex and difficult role that does not talk much. Milad Mirzaei is a capable actor and when we offered him, even though he was at another job, he came and acted, and he was very capable of his role. In the meantime, a couple has been portrayed as the salt of the “Mastoran” series. Negin and Saeb couple with Shahu Rostami and Shkoofeh Hashemian. Fortunately, in this series, we were able to employ capable actors whose ability has been proven in the field of theater, who will definitely be able to move up the steps in the field of acting better after playing in this series. There is hope that we still have young and fresh actors whose art we can use in cinema and television as well as theater.
Hashemi said about the female characters in this series and the roles that have been predicted for them: The story has moved the series in such a way that women are seen as very powerful and leading. But it wasn’t like planning in advance in this field to make women look powerful. The story progressed like this. The character of women in this series is designed in such a way that the process of many stories goes with their strength, presence and decisions.

Because romantic adventures are always attractive to the audience, and in season 2 of the “Mastoran” series, we have several different loves that will be spectacular for the audience. Especially the fact that the root of the story and its love adventures are rooted in Iranian culture and traditions.
