The Sassanid-based base office was opened in Sarpolzahab



Aria Heritage Report, citing the public relations of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Kermanshah Province, on Thursday evening, November 11, in the presence of the Director General of the Office of World and National Databases, the people’s representative of Gilan-e-Gharb, Qasr Shirin and Sarpol-e-Zaht in the Islamic Consultative Assembly. The province, the governor of Sarpolzahab and a group of officials from the office of the Kermanshah-Qasr Shirin Sassanid base were inaugurated.

Farhad Azizi stated on the sidelines of the ceremony: “The Sassanid axis of Kermanshah-Qasr Shirin is one of the most important historical complexes in the country and there are extensive index works located in this axis, which is of special historical and cultural importance.”

“This base has been operating for several years, and today its office was officially inaugurated in the historical inscription site of Anubani, one of the oldest reliefs in the Middle East in the city of Sarpolzahab,” he added.
He continued: “Considering the importance of the Sassanid axis of Kermanshah-Qasr Shirin and the inclusion of this axis in the list of temporary list of world registration, it is important to analyze and expand the activities of the base to complete the file data.”

“The base can organize all the cultural events in the region,” Azizi said, referring to the extensive role of cultural heritage sites in cultural development relations.

“The location of the base office in the city of Sarpolzahab could be a pilot for the cultural development of the city,” he added.

“The construction of a handicraft market near the base and the development of cultural programs commensurate with the base’s performance can play a pivotal role,” said the director general of the Office of Global and National Databases.

“It is also very helpful to use the capacity of non-governmental organizations to promote cultural work centered on the base for the cultural development of the region,” he continued.
In conclusion, Azizi stressed the need for local and provincial agencies to support the base’s programs: “Cultural work must be practiced and continued in order to achieve results.”
Also, Jabbar Gohari, head of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Kermanshah province, said: “And the office of the Sassanid axis base in Kermanshah province was established there.”

The head of the General Department of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts of Kermanshah Province stated: “More than 500 million Tomans of credit has been spent for organizing the administrative complex and Anubani inscription.”

“Most of these funds have been spent on providing office equipment, documenting Anubani’s prominent role and destroying the school janitor,” he added.

Referring to the importance of setting up a Sassanid base in Kermanshah province in Sarpolzahab city, Gohari stated: “This city is one of the richest cities in Kermanshah province and even in the west of the country in terms of the number of historical monuments.”

“Establishing a base office in the city will definitely help improve the protection and restoration of the city’s historical monuments,” he added.

In the end, referring to the importance of world registration of the Sassanid axis of Kermanshah-Qasrshirin, the head of the General Directorate of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts of Kermanshah province said: “Let’s be a world record.”
