The search of the Florida villa boosted Trump’s popularity among Republicans

According to IRNA’s report on Tuesday, the findings of a joint poll by Politico and Morning Consult show that if the intra-party competition to choose the Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential election is held these days, Trump will have 57% of the vote. It will turn out to be Republican, which shows a 4 percent increase compared to a similar poll in early summer.

At the same time, the public favorability of Ron DeSantis, the current governor of the state of Florida, decreased from 23% to 17%, bringing Trump’s difference with this supposed Republican rival to 10%.

This poll was conducted last Wednesday (August 19) and 2 days after the raid by FBI agents. Or at that time, there was still no news about the documents seized in Mar a Lago.

Politico poll was conducted among 2 thousand 4 candidates and its margin of error is 2%.

While de Santis is looking to participate in the gubernatorial race in the upcoming midterm elections, Trump has not yet officially volunteered to run in the 2024 election.

According to other findings of the aforementioned survey, 49% of respondents partially or strongly support the inspection of Trump’s villa, and 37% strongly or partially oppose this measure. 13% of the candidates have no opinion on this matter.

The US mid-term elections will be held on November 17 for the selection of 435 members of parliament, 35 senators, 39 governors and a large number of local and state officials across the United States.
