The Secretary General of the United Nations expressed regret for the assassination of the former Prime Minister of Japan

The Secretary General of the United Nations expressed his condolences to the family of the former Prime Minister of Japan and the government and nation of this country and added: I was deeply saddened and affected by the heinous murder of the former Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe.
Guterres stated: I had the honor of knowing him for many years and I will always remember his sense of cooperation and commitment to multilateralism.
According to IRNA, Japanese media reported on Friday that former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who was shot during an election campaign, died.
Japan TV, quoting Nara City Hospital, announced that Shinzo Abe’s death was caused by a direct bullet hit to his heart.
In a statement, the hospital announced that the medical staff could not stop the bleeding caused by the bullets because one of the bullets pierced his heart.
Shinzo Abe was shot in the back of the head on Friday while giving a speech in the city of Nara campaigning for the weekend parliamentary election.
Japan’s longest-serving leader was shot from behind at around 11:30 a.m. while giving a speech in front of the Kintetsu train station, and fell to the ground after two shots were heard.
Tetsuya Yamagami, the 41-year-old shooter who is a former member of the country’s navy, was arrested by Japanese security forces.
