The Security Council called for the formation of a new government in Lebanon

According to Fars News Agency’s International Group, members of the UN Security Council in a statement referring to the holding of Lebanon’s parliamentary elections, called for the formation of a new, inclusive government and the implementation of reforms in it, including the approval of the 2022 budget.
The statement said that the formation of the government would allow for a speedy agreement with the International Monetary Fund.
According to the newspaper “My vote todayThe Security Council requested that in addition to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s ongoing inspections in Iran, that it monitor Iran’s compliance with “the steps required by the IAEA Board”.
The statement also called for an immediate end to the independent, sound, in-depth and transparent investigation into the August 4, 2020 bombing in Beirut in order to meet the legitimate demands of the Lebanese people.
Earlier, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said he was looking forward to a speedy government.
Lebanon’s 2022 parliamentary elections were held across the country on May 15, during which 718 people competed in 103 lists or lists to win 128 parliamentary seats in 15 constituencies. According to the election results, the representatives of Hezbollah faction in the Lebanese parliament “Al-Wafa Lamaqawameh” won 335,466 votes.
