According to the Mehr news agency, quoting the project’s public relations, the shooting of the episodic series “Sisyphus and Death” directed by Morteza Farhadnia, which lasted about 2 months on Kamil Street in Tehran, has ended.
This series, which is supposed to be produced by one of the TV channels on Antenna Rud, in collaboration with the Free Film Workshop School (Masoud Kimiaei), is currently in the process of being compiled and technical steps taken.
“Sisyphus and Death” from Robert Merle’s play of the same name tells the life of a man who owns a theater café and works there to fulfill his late wife’s wish to own one. The owner of the cafe thinks he is Sisyphus and in his imagination he sees each of his customers in the form of ancient myths such as Ares, Zeus, Athena, Aphrodite and others.
In each episode of this series, independent narratives are mentioned, such as one of the ancient Greek plays such as “Oedipus the Prince”, “Medea”, “Antigone” and “The Frogs”, etc.
