He continued: In this regard, the ground for the first long-term cooperation in the electricity sector with Iraq has recently been prepared and we have signed an important and strategic contract with this country.

Mehrabian, describing the axes of cooperation between Iran and Iraq in the field of electricity, said: There have been several axes of cooperation between Iran and Iraq from the past until now, including numerous contracts for the construction and development of power plants and the maintenance of existing electricity production units.

Referring to the cases of electrical cooperation between Iran and Iraq, the Minister of Energy said: Considering Iran’s self-sufficiency in the technical knowledge of power plant construction, the construction of 1,950 megawatt power plants by Iranian companies with the investment of the Iraqi side has been implemented so far, and knowledge-based companies of the private sector of the country have also built 1,700 megawatts.
