The speaker of the Iraqi parliament agreed with the resignation of the representatives of the Sadr faction

According to Fars News Agency’s International Group, the official Iraqi news agency reported that the speaker of the Iraqi parliament, Mohammed al-Halbousi, had agreed to the resignation of members of the Sadr faction.

An hour ago, the leader of the Sadr faction, Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr, called on the faction’s representatives in the Iraqi parliament to submit their resignation to the speaker.

“I tell my allies in parliament that you are free to ally with us,” he told Sadr’s parliamentary allies.

“The resignation of the representatives of the Sadr faction is a sacrifice in order to free the nation from its vague destiny,” the Sadr faction leader continued.

Muqtada al-Sadr, the leader of the Sadr faction in Iraq, on Thursday called on members of the Sadr faction in parliament to write their resignation so that they would be ready to submit it on his orders in the coming days.

Explaining the reason for the resignation of the representatives of the Sadr faction, he said: “I was not concerned about power and politics, and I just wanted to expose any corrupt tyrant. The majority is for us, not others; “I will not participate in an agreement government.”

The leader of the Sadr faction, while declaring that the political blockade in Iraq is “fake”, added that the representatives of the Sadr faction are ready to resign.

During the recent elections, the Iraqi Sadr faction won 73 of the 329 parliamentary seats, followed by the Sunni Coalition with 37 seats, the State of Law Coalition with 33 seats, and the Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party with 31 seats. Kurdistan and the Fatah coalition led by Hadi al-Amiri came in second with 17 seats.

It is true that the Sadr faction won the most parliamentary seats in this election, but these seats are not enough to form a government, and it must form a coalition with other political groups that won the election.

End of message.
