The state of Ohio still shows Trump’s power among Republicans

Vance, a writer, defeated Republican Conservative candidate Josh Mandel. Mandel was leading in the polls before Trump approved of Vance.

Opposing Trump, Matt Dolan came in third with more than 20 percent of the vote, followed by Jane Timken, a former Republican leader in Ohio, in fifth place.

Some Republicans in Washington, especially Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, hoped that Trump’s influence in the party would diminish and that the party would be able to look to the future in this year’s midterm elections and the 2024 presidential election.

There are several major tests for Trump, according to the US-affiliated Hill website. In Georgia, he is trying to defeat Governor Brian Kemp, who he thinks has not worked hard enough to change the state’s 2020 election results. He has chosen David Proud as his representative. But since Proudh has not been so successful, Camp is likely to win again.

In Pennsylvania, he supports Mehmet Oz, a well-known television physician. The right-wing congressman Ted Bad, who is running for the US Senate in North Carolina and is backed by Trump, also surpassed former state governor Pat McCurry in opinion polls.

Nebraska Republican nominee Charles Herbster has the backing of Trump. He is currently embroiled in controversy over several women suing him for sexual harassment.

Trump’s support for a candidate has nothing to do with his ideology or politics. He only supports candidates who are obedient to him.

The former US president is still facing legal problems. An Atlanta court has charged Trump with trying to change the Biden-led election victory in Georgia and asked him to appear in court.

There is a recorded phone call from Trump in which he presses Georgia Interior Minister Brad Rafensperger to create more than 11,000 votes so that Trump can overtake Biden.

The 22 Trump-backed candidates won the midterm primaries in Ohio and Indiana.

Trump wrote “22 to zero” on the Truth social account to show off his power.

The former US president wrote on the social network: “22 to 0 in Ohio and Indiana. Congratulations to all our great Republican winners!”

The midterm elections for the US Congress are held this month (May).

According to IRNA, 469 seats in the US Congress (including 34 out of 100 Senate seats and all 435 seats in the House of Representatives) will be voted in for the November 8, 2022 (November 17, 1401) election.

Republicans must win only five seats in the House of Representatives and one seat in the Senate to win a majority in both houses. This means that if Democrats want to maintain control of Congress this year, they have no chance of making a mistake.

With 221 of the 435 seats in the House of Representatives, the Democrats now have a majority in the House; But with just two less seats in the Senate, they hold 48 of the 100 seats in the House, and Republicans have 50 seats in the Senate, so even one vote in the Senate is crucial.

In the 2022 election, 14 Democrats and 30 Republicans are set to vote in the midterm Senate race.

The composition and seats that will be put to the vote in this election are important because they can influence the majority of these two major US parties in Congress.

In addition, some current members of Congress do not intend to run again, so that by October 2021, 29 members of Congress, including five members of the Senate and 24 members of the US House of Representatives, have stated that they will not run for re-election.

Seventeen members, including five senators and 12 deputies, have announced their retirement. All five retired members of the Senate are Republicans from North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Alabama and Missouri, and eight retired members of the House of Representatives are Democrats and four are Republicans.

Twelve members of the US House of Representatives are running for office. Four Republicans and three Democrats are running for the U.S. Senate, one Republican and one Democrat are running for governor, one Republican is running for secretary of state, one is running for mayor, and one is running for state attorney general.

None of the members of the US Senate will run for office.
