The story of an ISIS woman in the movie “You are like me”

According to Fars News Agency, the movie “You Are Like Me” participated in the first Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia last week and received the award for the best film from the viewers’ point of view.

Directed by Dina Amer in France, Egypt and the United States, the 91-minute film aims to change attitudes about Islam and counter extremism.

“You are like me” is taken from the Paris attacks in November 2015 and a woman named “Hasna Aya Bolhassan” who was introduced as the first female suicide bomber in Europe.

However, the release of an audiotape recording the woman’s voice shortly before the final police raid questioned the suicide of her death, with some saying it was unclear whether Hasna had been killed by police or whether her companions had blown up her vest.

This Egyptian director about his work to Arab News He said: “I have created” You are like me “to show that Islam is a religion of beauty and that these actions taken in the name of Islam have nothing to do with our beautiful faith.

“The time has come for us, as Muslims, to re-read the narration we have of our faith,” Amer said. The West cannot say what Islam is, we must say what Islam is and Islam is a beautiful religion.

He hopes his film will help change attitudes and educate people about ways the world can tackle extremism and terrorism.
