The Taliban announced the destruction of an ISIS hideout in Kabul

A Taliban spokesman said the group had launched an operation against an “ISIL nest” in the 17th district north of Kabul.

According to Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman and deputy minister of the Taliban Ministry of Information and Culture, the operation was carried out by Taliban forces on Sunday night (October 4th).

Mujahid added that the operation was “very decisive and successful” and that the “ISIL” center was completely destroyed and all ISIL members were killed.

Several explosions were heard in northern Kabul on Sunday night. Taliban officials had initially said they had clashed with ISIS members.

Some popular sources also said that gunmen had attacked Taliban positions north of Kabul.

However, the number of casualties in this conflict is unknown.

Residents also heard several explosions in the area. Some Taliban officials have said the bomb blast was carried out by three ISIS members.

Videos posted on social media also show heavy fighting in northern Kabul.
