The tasteful view of the managers needs to be reviewed/ my colleagues are aligned with the weak and superficial market

Majid Toosi, who as a producer and concert organizer had serious collaborations with prominent pop singers of the 80s, said about the current state of music: Music has no support and supporter and this has caused people’s ears to get used to listening to music with weak and superficial content today. settle in the society.

Charso Press: Babak Bayat, Fereydoun Shahbazian, Ali Moalem Damghani and other figures are just some of the people who tried to discover pop and classical pop singers. Hamid Gholamali, Yavar Eghtari, Mani Rahnama, Nima Masiha, Maziar Attarian, Qasim Afshar are some of the singers who came to prominence in the seventies and eighties due to the selection of the Radio and Television Music Center and some other institutions. These singers and some pop composers and musicians, however, with the passage of time and the change in the views of the officials, audiences and producers of the music field, they distanced themselves from the professional atmosphere, and some were forgotten, and now their names are not among them. Then, from the middle of the eighties, pop music gradually changed its nature, and several music producers started their professional activities by signing contracts with some emerging singers and well-known names. Over time, concerts went beyond traditional and Iranian performances, and pop singers went on stage in Tehran and some other cities and performed their works. The audience’s acceptance of pop music made the Ministry of Guidance and cultural officials have a more stylized view of the style of music. By the way, it was from this starting point that despite all the efforts, pop music took a qualitatively (and not quantitatively!) declining path.

Now, after nearly two decades, it can be said that pop music is going through its most downward quality trend. In the meantime, producers and concert organizers, with their economic and business perspective, only think about income and profit. This individual thinking has caused producers to look for unconventional features in emerging singers that have nothing to do with music and its quality improvement.

The appearance of the singers, the type of face and the way of covering and makeup are important things that encourage the producers to make non-expert choices. This kind of look has strongly influenced the audience’s taste over the years. Now there are no more big orchestras and various arrangements common in “Pop Classic” and with a laptop and some samples you can even go on stage without a musician. The category of “playback” or lip-smacking in a live performance that the audience has spent a lot of money on is another issue that has been done many times by Nakarbald singers. With all this, the ticket prices are increasing day by day, until in 1402, it reached seven hundred thousand tomans.

Majid Toosi is one of the producers who, according to himself, is trying to bring high-quality concerts to the audience in cooperation with talented singers. He started his activity in the production field in the eighties. He has staged his first concert with the performance of Khashayar Emetadi in the open air of the Milad Hall located in the Tehran International Exhibition. A performance with an orchestra of more than 20 musicians and a ticket price of 3500 Tomans!

This producer says: music does not support compassion and this has made people’s ears used to listening to today’s works.

At the beginning of his speech, Tusi told Ilana in more detail about his history in the field of music: I started my artistic career in 1964 and I have brought many top singers on stage and in some cases I have paid a lot of money for my trust.

He then said about the singers he has collaborated with over the years: I have performed concerts with Mani Rahnama, Amir Tajik, Farman Fateh Aliyan, Hamid Asgari and Shahram Shekohi. Anyway, these people have been prominent for a while and it is still the same. Also, a live concert in memory of Fath Ali Owais was organized by me as a producer and through my institution.

Musicians are oppressed…

Referring to the closure of music concerts in the past months, Tusi said: Artists are the most oppressed group because they have no supporters, especially in the field of music. The circumstances caused some musicians to sell their instruments to make a living.

This producer added: As we are a private company, we do not have a high financial ability to support these friends, but we thank God that music concerts have flourished again and the music industry once again reached the cycle of production and performance so that many artists and related groups can Raise this table.

The supply of works by singers and composers is suitable for the taste of today’s generation

Tusi also commented on the content and quality of the two generations of music of yesterday and today: Undoubtedly, the content of music of the past is quantitatively and qualitatively much better and more qualitative than the works of today. Especially in the song section and of course making music. But today’s conditions have become such that singers and composers bring their products to the market according to the taste of today’s generation.

This producer of the music field further explained about the quality and quantity of music before the Islamic revolution. He said: Before the revolution, singers, composers, and songwriters provided the people with musical food, but now we are witnessing the reverse of this and it is the people who determine the intellectual path of singers, songwriters, and artists, which is not a pleasant thing.

I do not agree with the way of activity and choices of colleagues

This producer said about the improvement of the pop music atmosphere: the art of music has no support and supporter, and this has caused people’s ears to get used to listening to musical works with weak and shallow content today and to adapt to the society. Unfortunately, some friends and colleagues are both with and on the side of this market, and I personally have no opinion in favor of this choice and determination of routes.

In another part of his speech, referring to the licenses of the music office regarding songs, Tusi said: The Poetry and Song Council of the Music Office of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance had a tasteful view of this issue, and I think the conditions and reasons for rejecting or approving the songs need a review. And the unity of action is from the music office.

I organized the first concert of Milad Tower in Tehran

Pointing out that ticket prices have increased drastically in a short period of time, Toosi also explained about the price of concert tickets during his career in recent years as follows: When we held Hamid Askari’s concert, there was a good recession from this performance. . This program was performed in the hall of the Ministry of Interior and its ticket prices ranged from 9,000 to 16,000 tomans.

He admitted: Our company also organized the first concert of Milad Tower in Tehran with Farman Fathaliyan. I remember the rent of the hall was seventeen million tomans and today it has reached over 170 thousand tomans.

The first producer after the revolution who received the concert film license

Toosi continued: I must say that I am one of the first producers who after the revolution was able to obtain the permission to film my concerts and release them all over the world.

This producer and concert organizer went on to explain about the activities of his organization and the various collaborations he has had with singers and said: Our cultural and artistic company has released many albums and singles during its activity, including the album “On the other side of me”. In the voice of Bahram Radan, he mentioned that it came to the market in 1990. We also have various works ready to be released to the music market, among which we can mention the album and single tracks of Ahmed Selo, who has been working with us and our company for several years. As the first singer, he was able to introduce himself well to the Iranian music market with two performances in Esfand (1401) and April this year, which were held during the past weeks.

Tousi further said about his activities in the new year: Ahmed Selo will start his concert tour from Golestan province from the beginning of May this year, and will continue to perform in East and West Azerbaijan provinces, as well as in Kermanshah and Shiraz.

In the end, he said: If the conditions are right, we will organize a charity concert.
