Pirshalyar traditional ceremony, known as “Pirshalyar wedding”, which dates back to more than a thousand years ago, is an ancient and historical ceremony that is held every year in Oraman Takht, Kurdistan province, with the presence of many guests and tourists. There is the name of ‘Pir Shaliar’, who is said to be the possessor of merits. Among the merits of this myth that is narrated about him is the story of the healing of Shah Bahar Khatoon, the daughter of Shah Bukhara, who was healed by ‘Pir Shaliar’ by the grace of God. .
The story was that “Shah Bahar Khatun” is deaf and dumb and all the doctors are unable to treat her until the fame of “Pir Shaliar Orami” reaches Bukhara and the king of Bukhara also says that whoever heals his daughter He marries her.
Finally, the king’s uncle and some of the king’s entourage set off towards ‘Oraman’ to take the girl to “Pir Shaliar”.
After that, when they reach the vicinity of “Pir Shaliar’s” house, the sound of a demon’s roaring attracts their attention, and the demon from the oven, which is now called “Devil’s Oven” and is located near the house of “Pier Shaliar”, He fell on the ground and was killed, and at the same time the tongue of “Shah Bahar Khatoon” opened and started to speak.
The king, whose daughter has been healed, has kept his promise and marries her to Pirshalyar, and the people organize a big wedding celebration for Pirshalyar and Bahar Khatun, and after that, every year in winter, the people hold a wedding ceremony for three days. They organize Pirshalyar’s wedding.
Loyalty of Pirshalyar’s disciples
The people of the region and the disciples of this legendary elder celebrate the wedding ceremony of Pir Shaliar every year, which is the last Wednesday before the 15th of Bahman, as it was held for the first time, for three days and in different parts.
In this ceremony and on Wednesday morning after the morning prayer, the children of the village go to the doors of people’s houses in the narrow and snow-covered streets of the village and ask for their share of snacks.
“Claverochne” actually includes snacks such as biscuits, walnuts, and sweets, and each family puts what they have prepared for this day into the children’s bags, and then the children return home happily with full bags.
With the end of the “Children’s Clavaruchne” ceremony, the sacrificial animals will be slaughtered near Pir Shaliar’s old house, and their meat will be prepared and taken to the old Pir’s house for the preparation of special food as well as distribution among the people. Ash is cooked specially for the ceremony, and apart from that, most of the houses in Oraman also serve the guests with traditional dishes.
After that and after the evening prayer on Wednesday, the mystical dance and drumming ceremony was held in the area of Pirshalyar’s house until sunset, and on Thursday evening, the same ritual of mystical drumming and sama will continue with the presence of people, and the ceremony will be held at night in Thursday night (Friday night) ends in the old man’s house known as (Shab Nisht) and zikr, tahlila and poetry.
The ceremony of Pir Shaliar continues until Friday and before the Friday prayer, and people come to the shrine of Pir Shaliar en masse on Friday morning and perform the Friday prayer.
Seeing this ceremony together with the ceremony of zikr, hearing and slaughtering animals in the mountain atmosphere and the stepped texture of the houses in the middle of winter snow is very enjoyable and spectacular and it is culturally and religiously so important that every year a large number of tourists as well as photographers. Cameramen, researchers and foreign tourists visit this event.
Also, on the 45th day of spring, which coincides with 15 Ardibehesht, a ceremony called Kumsai is held in Pir Shaliar’s grave, which attracts many tourists to this area due to the greenery and good weather of Horaman.
This year, Pir Shaliar’s traditional ceremony called “Pir Shaliar’s Marriage” was held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12th, 13th and 14th of Bahman in Oraman Takht city.
Oraman region, which is known as Horaman in local literature, is the birthplace and nursery of many hardworking people.
The word “Huraman” is composed of two parts “Hura” meaning Ahura and “Man” meaning house, place and land, so Horaman means the land of Ahura and the place of Ahura Mazda.
“Hor” in Avesta means the sun and Horaman also means the place of the sun. According to the belief of these people, the village of “Horaman” was once a big city and had a special center, and for this reason, it is considered as the throne or the center of government of Horaman district. they learn
The special situation of the village in terms of architecture, geographical location, springs full of water, as well as special ceremonies, customs, and the presence of Pirshalyar tomb and mosque, especially its significant population and number of inhabitants, indicate its importance during the Sassanid period.
