The top US commander called for more talks with Russia

The United States should consider ways to expand military contacts with the Russians, including allowing each country’s observers to monitor another’s military maneuvers, IRNA reported, citing the Associated Press.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff suggested that US contacts with Russia be strengthened as part of a broader effort to increase transparency and reduce the risk of conflict between the two countries.

“Military contacts between the two great powers are now largely limited to senior leaders such as the Secretary of Defense and the Supreme Allied Commanders for Europe,” Milli, who met with his Russian counterpart General Valery Grasimov in Finland on Wednesday, told reporters on his return to the United States. .

He added that the United States may be looking to strengthen its military ties with its Russian counterparts, which is currently not allowed. In this way, for example, naval leaders can prevent conflict in the event of tensions at sea.

Gen. Milli stressed that allowing observers to attend maneuvers and other changes is worth considering, we may not do that, but at least we should look into it.
