The traditional arts center revived the forgotten textiles of Kashan



According to the Arya Heritage report, citing the public relations of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Isfahan Province, Mohammad Binwa announced today, March 5, 1401, on the sidelines of the visit of the evaluators of the World Handicrafts Council to the Center of Traditional Arts and Handicrafts in Kashan, that this center was established in 1977 in order to preserve and The revival of the forgotten textile arts of Kashan was established in one of the old workshops of the city dating back to the Qajar period by the efforts of the city’s cultural heritage department.

The deputy of Kashan Handicrafts continued: In this workshop, by inviting experienced craftsmen and weavers of traditional fabrics, in addition to reviving and teaching these arts to the young generation, they are engaged in the daily production of traditional fabrics with weaving machines.

Binova added: In the workshop of Kashan Traditional Arts and Crafts Center, two velvet weaving machines, four zari weaving machines, two silk weaving machines and two zilo weaving machines are working with 10 permanent weavers and traditional textile students.

The Deputy of Kashan Handicrafts stated: The existence of this center has encouraged many people interested in traditional fabrics to invest in the city and learn how to weave it, so that today we see Kashan being chosen as the national city of traditional textiles.

On the first day of their trip to Kashan, the evaluators of the World Handicrafts Council visited the traditional arts and crafts center of this city along with a group of senior managers of the city.
