Kyomarth Saberi Fomeni, known as Gol Agha, a contemporary writer and satirist, was born on the 7th of Shahrivar 1320 in Gilan. His father, who was an employee of the Ministry of Finance, died in 1321. Sabri’s mother, who was one of the few literate women in the city, taught Quran in the school, and this was the only way to support the family after the death of her father, who did not pay for their living.
After the revolution and during Shahid Rajaei’s prime ministership, Fomeni was appointed as the cultural and press advisor to the prime minister. During the presidency of Shahid Rajaei, he became the president’s cultural advisor and remained in this position until Rajaei’s martyrdom, and he remained in the same position during the presidency of the leader of the revolution.
