The UN envoy in Saudi Arabia to extend the ceasefire in Yemen

According to the report of Fars International News Agency, Hans Grundberg, the UN special envoy for Yemen affairs, ended his trip to Saudi Arabia on Monday.

news station “24During his trip to Riyadh, Grundberg held meetings with Saudi officials, including Mohammad Al-Jaber, the country’s ambassador to Yemen, and other diplomats, and called these meetings “constructive”.

According to a statement published by Grundberg’s office on Twitter, in these meetings, the ways of extending the ceasefire and trying to make progress in Yemen’s political process have been examined quickly.

In this regard, Mehdi Al-Mashat, the head of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, emphasized on Monday evening that the ceasefire situation in this country is like a ticking time bomb.

Al-Mashat said: We are not in a state of truce or war. The state of neither peace nor war is the result of recent developments and that some of the aggressor coalition parties have come to the conclusion that they have failed.

This Yemeni official pointed out: The negotiations about the ceasefire had reached the level of a good agreement, but the American envoy traveled to the region and failed these efforts. The US envoy is trying to portray himself as a dove of peace in the media, but his movements in the region show that he is a sinister owl.

The two-month ceasefire in Yemen, with the mediation of the UN’s special envoy to the country, ended after twice being extended until October 2 (10 October), and after that, Brigadier Yahya Saree, the spokesman of the Yemeni armed forces, sent a message on Twitter to all oil companies in UAE and Saudi Arabia warned to leave these countries quickly.

He clarified that this warning will remain until the American-Saudi aggressor countries adhere to a ceasefire that does not give the Yemeni nation the right to exploit its oil wealth to pay the salaries of Yemeni government employees.
