The United Nations has called for an immediate end to hostilities in Ukraine

“The attack is deeply shocking in various ways because medical facilities are protected under international humanitarian law,” he told Al Jazeera on Thursday morning, IRNA reported. These attacks are shocking because they kill infants and children, and they happen in war situations like the ones we see in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Catherine Russell, Director-General of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), said of the attack on a hospital in Mariupol: “The attack on civilians and civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, water and sewage networks and schools, is brutal and must be stopped immediately.”
According to IRNA, the UN Secretary General called the attack on the hospital horrific and condemned it.
“Today’s attack on a hospital in Mariupol, Ukraine, where the maternity ward and children are located, is horrific and horrific,” Antonio Guterres wrote on his Twitter account on Wednesday evening, local time.
He added: “Civilians pay the highest price in a war that has nothing to do with them.” This senseless violence must stop. Stop the bleeding right now.
Earlier, a UN spokesman said the organization was pursuing “shocking reports” of a hospital bombing in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol. He stressed that hospitals, medical centers and health workers should never be the target of military attacks.
Ukrainian officials said Wednesday that 17 people had been injured in an airstrike on a hospital in the city of Mariupol.
The Russian Foreign Ministry did not deny the airstrikes, but said Ukrainian nationalist forces had set up offensive positions near the hospital after evacuating them.
