According to officials, one of the pillars of the alleged propaganda plot is the Russian magazine of the Strategic Culture Foundation, which the US Treasury Department sanctioned last April for publishing false information about the 2020 US election.

US officials have refused to share the information on which the allegations are based.

CNN claimed that the revelation was part of the Biden administration’s efforts to prevent possible Russian military action in Ukraine.

Another US official claimed that the false information campaign was a primary way to strengthen domestic support for the Russian government to invade Ukraine, as well as to spread any false information about a false operation.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin told a joint news conference with German Chancellor Olaf Schultz at the Kremlin that Russia did not want a war and had therefore proposed the idea of ​​security guarantees.
