The United States has accused Russia of leaking false information about Ukraine

While the United States itself has been accused of creating crisis and atmosphere in Ukraine, informed US officials claim that Russian intelligence agencies have worked closely with the editors of five Russian-language media outlets to strengthen public support for Russia’s re-invasion of Ukraine.
According to CNN, the officials claim that officers from Russia’s domestic and foreign intelligence agencies, including the FSB and the SVR, have secretly published articles in various publications that blame the West. Tensions with Russia over Ukraine, question the legitimacy of the Ukrainian government, and challenge US commitment to its European allies.
According to officials, one of the pillars of the alleged propaganda plot is the Russian magazine of the Strategic Culture Foundation, which the US Treasury Department sanctioned last April for publishing false information about the 2020 US election.
US officials have refused to share the information on which the allegations are based.
CNN claimed that the revelation was part of the Biden administration’s efforts to prevent possible Russian military action in Ukraine.
Another US official claimed that the false information campaign was a primary way to strengthen domestic support for the Russian government to invade Ukraine, as well as to spread any false information about a false operation.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin told a joint news conference with German Chancellor Olaf Schultz at the Kremlin that Russia did not want a war and had therefore proposed the idea of security guarantees.
“What is happening in the Donbas region (conflict zone in eastern Ukraine) is genocide,” he said.
The Donbass region in eastern Ukraine consists of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as several other Russian-populated regions, and the two provinces unilaterally declared independence from Kiev in 2014 after a change of government in Ukraine.
He also spoke about the possibility of a war in Europe and such a threat, saying that there had been a war in Europe in the past, which NATO had launched against Belgrade (NATO invasion of the former Yugoslavia in 1999).
Putin said that the postponement of Ukraine’s membership in NATO will not change the situation, and we want to resolve this issue now.
Russia’s presidential aide Yuri Oshakov has previously said that the United States is fueling tensions over Ukraine and sending weapons to the country at the same time.
According to IRNA, quoting the Tass news agency, Oshakov said that the United States is artificially escalating tensions over the invasion of Ukraine, as if Russia intends to attack the country.
He added: “The United States is even announcing the date of the invasion of Ukraine and, in parallel with its allies, by delivering weapons to Ukraine, is increasing its military capability.”
Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said today that with the end of a joint Russian-Belarusian military exercise, units in Russia’s eastern and western military districts would begin loading weapons on military trucks and trains, and Belarus would be evacuated. They leave.
As Russian troops begin withdrawing from Crimea and Belarus today, a Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman has called Western propaganda about a Russian invasion a failure.
