According to IRNA, the White House announced that US Vice President Harris and French President Emmanuel Macron have agreed to start a bilateral space dialogue through which US and French officials will discuss issues such as Collaborate on climate change, expand space exploration, and access to science, technology, and engineering.

Harris, who also chairs the US National Space Council, said the United States is joining the Space Climate Observatory, which focuses on the effects of climate change. The French National Center for Space Studies is also part of the project.

Harris’s five-day trip to France comes as the White House seeks to repair ties with its oldest ally after canceling a deal to sell French nuclear submarines to Australia over a new security deal with the United States.
