The unveiling of Huawei MateBook D14 and D16 2023 laptops and S3 Pro smart TV

Huawei wrapped up a big event yesterday where we saw the introduction of the nova 11 series, Enjoy 60X and Band 8, but these weren’t the only new devices from the brand. 2023 MateBook D14 and D16 Windows series laptops were unveiled along with a new flagship smart TV called Smart Screen S3 Pro. As the name of the newest members of the MateBook D series suggests, they can be offered in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes with a resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels with a 16:10 IPS screen and 13th generation Intel processors with Iris Xe graphics. The 14-inch model can be configured with Core i5-1340P and Core i7-1360P processors, while the 16-inch version can be used with a Core i9-1390H processor.

Both laptops have up to 16GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 1TB of NVMe PCIe SSD storage. The laptops come with Windows 11 Home Edition, and the D14 2023 comes with a 56Wh battery, while the D16 has a 60Wh cell. Both laptops come with 65W power adapters.

Huawei’s pricing for the MateBook D14 2023 laptop starts at 5,099 yuan ($742) for the 512/16GB trim and goes up to 6,099 yuan ($888) for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage model. On the other hand, the price of the MateBook D16 2023 starts at 5,699 yuan ($830) for the 16GB RAM and 1TB internal storage trim and goes up to 7,199 yuan ($1,048) for the Core i9 model. The sale of these laptops in China will start on April 26.

Smart TV Huawei Smart Screen S3 Pro

Huawei’s latest S series smart TV can be had in 65 and 75 inch sizes. Both have 2160 x 3840 pixel LCD panels with a 120Hz refresh rate, which can be boosted to 240Hz in gaming mode. These new TVs cover 92% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum and can produce up to 400 nits of brightness.

The software part of this TV is covered by HarmonyOS 3.1 and both sizes have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage space. In terms of available ports, we will have three HDMI 2.1 outputs, an AV input, a USB 3.0 along with a USB 2.0 and an Ethernet port on this TV. Also, a camera with magnetic connection for video calls will be offered to customers with this TV.

The 65-inch model is priced at 5,999 yuan ($873) and the 75-inch model is priced at 7,999 yuan ($1,164).
