As concerns about armed violence continue to escalate in the United States, shootings during a live-night ceremony in Texas have made headlines, according to Fars News Agency International.

One gunman was killed and 14 others were injured when gunmen opened fire on worshipers at a religious ceremony near Houston, Texas, said Ed Gonzalez, Harris County, Texas.

According to the news agency ReutersAccording to him, a large number of people were attending a night vigil to “celebrate life” when suddenly someone shot.

Ed Gonzalez added that three of the wounded in the shooting were in critical condition but that 11 others were not in danger.

Other media outlets reported that at least 50 people were lighting candles when a passing car approached them and suddenly started firing from inside the car.

It was not immediately clear what caused the shooting, and no arrests have been made, U.S. police said.

Police are trying to find traces of the driver or occupants of a red Toyota car that is said to have no license plates.

Some eyewitnesses reported that at least 20 to 30 shots were fired at those present at the night vigil.
