The US Secretary of State is going to France and Mexico

Blinken’s trip to Paris comes as the French ambassador to the United States, who had been recalled due to differences between the two countries following the Agus Accords, returned to Washington to meet with Biden’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan.
Earlier in the month, France was outraged by the cancellation of a deal to buy 12 submarines by Australia and the signing of the Agus treaty between Washington, Canberra and London, calling it a “dagger in the back” and recalling its ambassadors from Washington and London. And of course he stated that the reason was “consultation”.

According to the US State Department on Friday, Blinken will travel to France from October 4 to 6 and to Mexico from October 7 to 8.
According to a State Department spokesman, Blinken will chair a meeting of the CIS Council of Ministers in Paris to mark the 60th anniversary of its founding.
The Secretary of State will be accompanied by John Kerry, the US Special Representative for Climate Change, the US Trade Representative, the Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council and the Deputy Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment.
According to the report, Blinken met with his French counterpart to discuss further strengthening of vital US-French relations on a range of issues in the Indo-Pacific region, the climate crisis, the post-Covid 19 epidemic, and trans relations. Atlantic will work with allies and partners to address global challenges and opportunities.
In Mexico, the US Secretary of State will also discuss bilateral relations and security with his Mexican counterpart.
