The value of the assets of the banking system exceeded 11,000,000 billion Tomans

According to the report of Iran Economist, the central bank, by publishing a selection of economic statistics until the end of March 1400, also published a summary of the state of assets and liabilities of the banking system in this period.

According to the published statistical table, the assets and liabilities of the banking system reached 11,360 billion tomans in March. In this period, the amount of foreign assets of banks was 2,358,000 billion tomans and the amount of debt of the public sector was 655,000 billion tomans.

The assets of the banking system grew by 45.4% in March 1400, and by 40% in March 2019, and by 24.5% and 22.9% in 1338 and 1977, respectively.

Debt of the banking system includes liquidity, government sector loans and deposits, capital account and other sectors.

The debt of the banking system in the liquidity sector is equal to 4,832,000 billion tomans, of which 986 billion tomans is money and 3,845 billion tomans is pseudo-money.

Loans and deposits of the public sector are another part of the debt of the bank system, which according to the statistical tables of the Central Bank is equal to 311 thousand billion tomans in September. The amount of loans and deposits of the public sector with the banking system has increased by 51.7% in September this year compared to September last year.
