According to the report of the international group of Fars news agency, “Ziyad al-Nakhleh”, the secretary general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, arrived in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, at midnight today. A trip that takes place after several decades and is supposed to last for a few days.

According to the Al-Sumaria News website, the office of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement in Iraq said in a statement that this visit was made at the official invitation of the Iraqi authorities, and that Zia al-Nakhleh plans to meet and talk with political and party leaders and Iraqi personalities, and the focus of all these meetings will be discussion. It will be about the latest developments in Palestine and the Arab world and ways to support the Palestinian resistance.

In this regard, Iraqi sources also said that the purpose of Ziyad al-Nakhlah’s trip to Iraq is to attend the World Quds Day ceremony in Baghdad and he will give a speech at this ceremony.

After arriving in Baghdad, the Secretary General of the Islamic Jihad of Palestine visited Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadegh, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iraq, and today he also met and talked with the former Iraqi Minister of Defense, Adel Abdul Mahdi.

In this regard, Ziad Al-Nakhleh told Al-Mayadeen network that his trip to Iraq is in line with the response to the aggression of the Zionist regime on Al-Aqsa Mosque and has a clear message that Iraq supports the resistance and the Palestinian people.

He also announced his meeting with the president, prime minister and ministers and leaders of Iraqi political groups and emphasized that his visit has a strong message to the Zionist regime.
