The Washington Post’s account of the negative consequences of America’s hasty withdrawal from Afghanistan

According to IRNA, in the report of this American newspaper, it was stated that Al-Zawahiri’s presence in the center of Kabul city is the result of the vacuum caused by the disastrous withdrawal of America from Afghanistan.

The Washington Post wrote about this: Following the disastrous US withdrawal from Afghanistan last summer, Biden assured that al-Qaeda had left the country. Biden said last August: “What does America have to gain in Afghanistan with al-Qaeda gone? We went to Afghanistan to get rid of al-Qaeda and we did it.”

This newspaper also pointed to the statement of the same month by the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that Al Qaeda is not present in Afghanistan and stating that the remnants of Al Qaeda do not pose any serious threat to the United States, adding: Almost a year later, while the United States attacked Osama’s successor and right hand man celebrates bin Laden, it is a matter of fact that al-Zawahiri did not appear in a remote cave in the Hindu Kush mountains (Bin Laden’s hiding place) but was present right in the heart of the Taliban-controlled capital, Kabul.

During his televised speech on Monday night, Biden said that Washington had traced Al-Zawahiri’s location earlier this year after he moved to Kabul city center to join his family members. U.S. officials told Politico that he was in the Afghan capital in May. The Washington Post wrote about this: Think about what this means. Within a few months of America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, Al-Zawahiri’s family and the Al-Qaeda leader himself were transferred to Kabul.

This American newspaper pointed to Biden’s words that “Al-Zawahiri had prepared videos in recent weeks and asked his followers to attack America and its allies”, and continued: Al-Qaeda has returned to Afghanistan and Biden deserves to be blamed because he created the conditions. which allowed the most wanted terrorist in the world to go to the center of Kabul and plan an operation in the city that was freed from Al-Qaeda. Killing Al Qaeda is the biggest victory of Biden’s foreign policy, but the fact that the leader of Al Qaeda was in Kabul is considered the biggest scandal of Biden’s foreign policy.

Last year, the President of the United States ordered the immediate withdrawal of his country’s troops from Afghanistan, and although this order marked the end of two decades of US occupation of Afghanistan, this action was so irresponsible and had many consequences that many considered it the darkest leaf of They know the record of the Biden administration.

After the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan, within two weeks, the government of Kabul collapsed in the hands of the Taliban. Biden was called the main culprit of the collapse of the previous government and the fall of Afghanistan, and regardless of whether the Afghan government at the time could have performed positively after America’s withdrawal or not, the people of Afghanistan will never forget this dark spot.

Biden’s decision about Afghanistan reduced his popularity in America and the world by 40%. Only 25% of the American people approved the action of the Biden administration to withdraw from Afghanistan in the current situation. The irresponsible departure after 20 years of hitting the stability, security, peace and economy of this country was done in the worst possible time and conditions and did not heal the pain of the people of Afghanistan.
