The White House’s reaction to North Korea’s action: We are looking for a diplomatic solution

North Korea’s official media announced on Friday that the country has passed a law allowing for a pre-emptive and immediate nuclear attack.
White House spokesperson Karin Jean-Pierre told reporters on Friday local time in response to the North Korean resolution that the US policy towards North Korea has not changed.
The spokesman of the White House announced: “The US policy towards North Korea has not changed and we are still looking for a diplomatic solution for the disarmament of the Korean Peninsula.”
This White House official continued that America does not have a hostile approach towards North Korea and we are still focused on continuing close cooperation and coordination with America’s allies and partners with the aim of countering North Korea’s threats and denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula.
Saying that Washington is “ready to meet without preconditions” with North Korea, Jean-Pierre stated that we are ready to meet with North Korea, but Pyongyang has left our requests for a diplomatic dialogue unanswered.
This American official claimed that America is committed to defend South Korea within the framework of a completely defensive approach.
The White House spokesman also said that Washington is working to increase alternatives to Russian gas for Europe and continues to work with European allies to find ways to increase energy reserves.
Agence France-Presse quoted North Korea’s official news agency; This law considers North Korea’s status as a nuclear weapons state irreversible.
According to the report, the law allows Pyongyang to automatically and immediately launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike to destroy enemy forces when a foreign country poses an imminent threat to North Korea.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said in July that his country is ready to mobilize nuclear capability in any war with the United States and South Korea.
The North Korean News Agency added that with the approval and implementation of this new law; Our country’s status as a holder of nuclear weapons has become irreversible.
Nuclear and diplomatic talks between Washington and Pyongyang have been suspended since 2019 over the scope of North Korea’s exemption from Western sanctions and the reciprocal concessions it will receive.
Officials in Washington and Seoul have repeatedly warned that North Korea is preparing to conduct its seventh nuclear test.
