The woes of the automobile industry (first part); From import ban to car lottery

According to the online economy report, Amir Hossein Kakaei stated: the government had to prioritize foreign exchange management during the embargo and banning imports was the right decision. But one should distinguish between politics and the way politics are applied.
He added: The problem was that the import of cars was suddenly banned on August 15, 1396, and this matter hit the market hard and led to the depot of 19,000 cars.
Kakaei stated: In the two years that the JCPOA was implemented, good investments were made and necessary guarantees were taken from foreign companies, but the American sanctions were so severe that foreign car manufacturers left Iran in tears.
He said: We had no choice but to draw a lottery, but the problem goes back to 2017, which unfortunately continues to this day, and that is the mandatory pricing. In fact, the lottery was the fairest method in a great injustice.
