For comparison, it’s only 45 grams heavier than the 14-inch MacBook Pro and 68 grams lighter than gaming laptops like the ASUS ROG Zepyrys G14.
HP offers a choice between Intel Core Ultra 7 155H and Core Ultra 9 185H Meteor Lake processors. GPU options also include Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050, RTX 4060, and RTX 4070 laptop GPUs. Buyers can configure the Omen Transcend 14 with up to 32GB of LPDDR5x-7467 RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe Gen4 SSD capacity.
Omen Transcend 14 uses a vapor chamber built with Intel’s dual-channel flow technology. The company claims that this device can achieve 4 times higher static pressure with the new thermal solution. Also, despite the device being housed in a slim 12mm (0.47”) body, 80W enables stable performance.
Port selection includes Thunderbolt 4 with DisplayPort 1.4-out and Power Delivery, 1x USB Type-C 10 Gbps, 2x USB Type-A 10 Gbps, HDMI 2.1-out and a combo audio jack. Enthusiasts can configure Omen Transcend 14 with Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE200 or Wi-Fi 6E AX211 WLAN cards. Other features include an FHD IR webcam, an RGB keyboard, and a 71WHr battery that supports 140W USB-C charging.
It should be mentioned that there is also a pair of DTS:X Ultra speakers in this laptop. In addition, the new HP laptop has a built-in wireless receiver for the company’s Cloud III headphones. Thus, if you have these headphones, you can connect to this laptop without connecting a special wire or dongle.
HP also said that the sound of the Omen Transcend 14 will be tuned by people from the HyperX team. Aside from support for OpenVINO plugins, the laptop offers Otter.ai for live transcriptions, instant captioning, AI-generated notes, and more.
The Omen Transcend 14 laptop is equipped with a Meteor Lake chip with a dedicated NPU processor, but you can’t expect to see any improvement in terms of AI capabilities in terms of gaming.
