The world’s oldest lion was hunted by a photographer + Images

According to Fars News Agency, quoting پتاپیکسل, Leighton Lam, a 33-year-old wildlife photographer, recently captured images of Morani as the world’s oldest lion in Kenya. The 14-year-old male lion lives in a national reserve in Africa.
Lam captures a magnificent collection of photographs of Morani resting in the Mara Protected Area. The area is world-renowned for its populations of lions, leopards and cheetahs; It also hosts a large migration of cats from Tanzania to Kenya.
After the death of the previous record holder, his brother “Wounded Face”, Morani was named the “Oldest Lion” in early 2021.
“Just by looking at Morani’s face, one can see that this Sherner has gone through a lot,” Lam said. “From an arrogant young leader and a king, he became a retired old man who is still fighting for survival.”
“Morani is a lone male driven by younger, stronger males, which is a natural trend in lions, because the strongest males take control,” he said.
It is not difficult to take a clear picture of Morani after finding his position, because his level of physical activity is very low at this age.
In general, adult male lions are inherently lazy and sleep up to 20 hours a day! “We saw Morani in the morning, then we came back at the end of the day and found him 5 meters away from where he was before,” says Lam. “Even when he gets up and sits down, it is a relatively slow process.”
According to Fars, the average lifespan of lions in the wild is between 10 and 14 years and in the zoo between 15 to 20 years. Three years ago, Dariush, the male lion of Shiraz Zoo, died at the age of 26, which was said to be the oldest lion in the world at that time.
