Ali Darabi, Deputy Minister of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts, said during a five-hour visit to Saadabad on Monday, March 7, 2009: “One of our expectations and follow-ups from the General Directorate of Museums is planning for museums. “It should be in the cultural consumption basket of the people.”
“Museums are the showcase of the country and narrate the history and identity of our land,” continued the Deputy Minister of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts.
“We must be able to make the best use of our historical wealth and resources,” he said, referring to the historical and cultural potential. You and I have a responsibility today to articulate and use this wealth well. “We also have great celebrities that our teenagers and young people need to become more familiar with.”
The Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage continued: “We declared 1401 the year of quantitative and qualitative development and growth of Saadabad. The issue of manpower in Saadabad is of great importance, which should be given special attention along with the reform of the structure. Museums should no longer have office use. The authenticity of museums is tied to historical identity. “A five-year vision plan must be developed for the Saadabad cultural and historical complex, and we must see great things happen in the next five years.”
“Another issue that needs special attention in Saadabad is the preparation of a comprehensive reconstruction plan for the complex,” he recalled. The construction of a safe museum is also on the agenda. In addition, due to the importance of education, a large and prestigious complex in the field of museum education will be created in the cultural and historical complex of Saadabad. “The library and documentation center are at the heart of this collection, and we have detailed plans for this.”
Darabi stated that Saadabad should be program-oriented and event-oriented and make it attractive for visitors and different strata when visiting Saadabad, adding: “Saadabad cultural and historical complex is very important and has capacity. This is the jewel of Tehran tourism. Forecasts show an increase in travel on Nowruz 1401. “Our prediction is that the number of visitors to Nowruz will increase this year, and we must be prepared for this and plan in such a way that Saadabad becomes a model museum in the country.”
