The Zionist regime’s attempt to create instability in the Gaza electricity grid

According to the report of the International Economic Group of Fars News Agency, quoted by Palestine EliumOn Thursday, the Gaza Electricity Distribution Company emphasized that the continued closure of the Karam Abu Salem crossing and not allowing the entry of fuel shipments for the operation of the only power plant in the Gaza Strip will have a direct impact on the electricity hours in this area.
Referring to the dangers and consequences of this on the lives of citizens, Mohammad Thabit, the head of public relations of the Gaza Electricity Distribution Company, said that it is expected that the power plant will stop working due to the lack of fuel, which threatens many vital facilities.
He added that if the power plant stops working, a large amount of electricity will be lost and it will affect the electricity distribution plan in the Gaza Strip.
Saying that the Gaza Strip is currently facing a reduction in the amount of electricity needed to meet the needs of citizens, facilities and facilities in Gaza, Sabet said: Stopping the work of the power plant will have a double effect on the aggravation of the humanitarian situation in this area.
This official stated that there is no alternative plan due to the continued closure of crossings to supply electricity to Gaza, and said: In critical situations, priority is given to vital facilities that are not related to the lives of citizens, such as hospitals and facilities related to urban water supply, which are given priority. .
Today, the Zionist regime has closed the crossings of Gaza for the fourth consecutive day in the shadow of the new tension between this regime and the resistance. Last Monday, this regime arrested Sheikh Bassam al-Saadi, one of the senior officials of the Islamic Jihad movement, in the attack on the city of Jenin in the West Bank.
The Gaza Strip needs about 500 MW of energy per day in the summer, of which it receives 120 MW from Israel, while the only power plant in the Gaza Strip supplies another 60 MW.
According to the program that is currently implemented in Gaza, electricity reaches the homes of citizens for approximately six hours, while the hours of power outages are more than 10 hours.
Last Tuesday morning, the Zionist regime announced the sudden closure of the Karam Abu Salem crossing in the south of the Gaza Strip without giving any reason.
It should be noted that the only power plant in the Gaza Strip supplies only about 50 to 60 megawatts of electricity to the electricity distribution company.
