There are still reasons for revitalizing the JCPOA/complications are in the details – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr News Agency, Mikhail Ulyanov, the permanent representative of Russia in international organizations, wrote on Twitter: “The truth is that there are reasons for revitalizing the JCPOA.” But as always, there are complications in the details.

Yesterday, Western media and officials in their reports, while referring to the end of the sanctions lifting negotiations in Vienna, claimed that the text of the agreement has been finalized, but the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country rejected this claim and emphasized that the text of the agreement has not been finalized and some issues and details have not been resolved. It requires the political will of Washington, and now the ball is in the US government’s court to access the final text.

The experience of the recent negotiations shows that America always claims in the media the availability of the agreement and Washington’s readiness to achieve it, and throws the ball in Iran’s court, but in practice it constantly obstructs.

The negotiations to lift the sanctions and return the US to the JCPOA agreement in the 13th government started in Vienna in early January last year, but due to Washington’s lack of seriousness, these talks were stopped in March. After a break of several months and following the visit of EU foreign policy official Josep Borrell to Tehran, a new round of negotiations was held on July 7th and 8th in Doha, Qatar. The new round of sanctions lifting negotiations started on Thursday and ended yesterday, but the fate of the JCPOA is still uncertain.
