This power plant burns four million liters of fuel oil every day!

According to the online economy report, quoted by the journalists club, Yousef Yousefi, director general of the environment protection of Central Province, said: Shazand thermal power plant has a total of four units, each of which has 24 burners and a total of 96 burners. With 24 burners, it has been undergoing major repairs since November 29 this year.

He stated: The basic repairs of this unit are expected for about four months and currently 72 burners of Shazand thermal power plant are active, of which 50 burners are fueled with diesel fuel and 22 burners are gas fueled.

The General Director of Environmental Protection of Central Province reminded: Shazand thermal power plant’s fuel burning started last year on November 20 with four units and until March 16, about 750 million liters of fuel oil were burned by this unit.

Yousefi stated: This year, this unit started burning diesel fuel a month later, and now 50 burners are supplied with diesel fuel, and it is hoped that the consumption of this fuel will not exceed this amount and that necessary measures will be taken to allocate gas to this unit.

He said: “The environment is in no way in favor of burning fuel oil by the Shazand thermal power plant, but there is disagreement in the country and people should save gas consumption as much as possible.”
