From tomorrow, Google will remove all call recording applications from the Play Store. This decision was made due to increased privacy and security of the user.

Voice recorders are tools that many people use for specific reasons. It can be used to record important contacts with notes that you do not have time to write down, or it can be used as a means of reassuring and gathering evidence about a conversation that you may want to refer later. However, it seems that Google has paid more attention to the negative factors of this category of software than to the positive points.

From tomorrow (May 11th), there will be a formal change in the policies and rules of the Google Play Store, according to which the Android call recording apps will be completely removed from this store.

Based on this information, which was published through a user called NLL Apps on Reddit, Google’s new policy also affects access to the API. Previously, developers used the Accessibility API to circumvent Google’s previous changes that made it possible for such software to exist.

Google has also personally talked about policy changes during the developer webinar. The tech giant said:

Accessibitlity API feature is not applicable to call recording applications and is not requestable.

The reasons behind this decision are probably related to privacy and security.

The good news is that while Android call recording apps will have no place in the Play Store, this is not the case with pre-installed first-person apps. For example, if your phone already has some sort of dedicated call recording feature, you can still use it.

Google also announced during its webinar that as long as the user uses the default dialer program, they will not need access to the incoming audio stream, and this is not a violation. Although developers now have to follow Google’s new policies; But it is probably not unexpected for developers to create a loophole and circumvent the law.
