Tourism, a new platform for income generation in the villages of Tehran

The urban and rural economies were intertwined in recent years, and urban dwellers often supplied their necessities from the countryside; But this connection has diminished today due to the migration of many villagers, and some villages have moved away from the production cycle.

The village is one of the most important bases for the production of raw materials due to agriculture and animal husbandry and it is important to strengthen its economic strength, so that developed countries have put rural economic development at the top of their plans, while today due to various factors such as drought and Lack of water for agriculture Many villagers, including in Tehran province, migrate to cities to earn more money, which makes the rural economy more fragile.

To prevent the continuation of this process, maintaining the rural population of Tehran province and achieving sustainable development, it is necessary to find a different source of income in these places according to existing capacities.

The importance of this issue is such that the president recently said during one of his provincial trips that a large economic factory should be built in rural areas so that the suburbs of cities would not be formed and developed in this way.

Village or town?

After moving to Tehran province in search of suitable jobs and living facilities, some villagers have been forced to settle in villages or suburbs due to high permits. As a result, most of Tehran’s villages have distanced themselves from the rural physical system with a production approach. And have become dormitories and population colonies.

According to statistics, there are 800 villages in Tehran province that have accommodated 940,000 people.

However, “for some villages in Tehran province, the name of the village can no longer be used, because by being located on the outskirts of cities, they have become towns where the residents live according to the needs and demands of urban thinking.”

This was said by Ahmad Abbasi Dehyar of Chaltar Khan tourist village in Qala-e-Naw section of Rey city and continued: the villagers are facing problems in providing livestock and agricultural inputs and their production has been reduced.

He stressed that the government should help the villagers in preparing livestock and agricultural inputs, because it is their main source of income, and at the same time, the industry will be hit hard by reducing products and products.

Tourism development is a way to strengthen the economic strength of villages

Creating suitable spaces for tourism can be one of the important resources in developing the rural economy and helping to generate income for the villagers; The pristine and untouched nature of many villages is a good capacity to attract tourists, especially foreigners, and on the other hand, providing local, organic and healthy products to tourists, improves the economy of the villagers.

According to Dehyar, Chaltar Khan village, which is one of the target villages for tourism, the private sector should invest in this field in order to prevent the migration of villagers to the city in addition to employment for the youth.

Majid Ghasemi, who is Dehyar Zavarehvar from Javadabad district of Varamin city, considers the villages of this city as the center of agriculture and animal husbandry and believes that if investments are made in the field of handicrafts and tourism, the economy will prosper more in this village.

Also, according to Dehyar “Abbasabad Alaqband” from the functions of Khavaran section of Rey city, the agricultural capacity of the villages of this section has been transformed into gardens and recreational gardens by changing the use and by creating small and large industrial workshops around the villages and other water shortages. It is not the restoration of agricultural lands.

Davood Arab Ameri added: “Due to the recent drought in the villages of Khavaran district, the development of greenhouse cultivation should be developed, which requires less water consumption and land area.”

The need to support handicrafts and develop rural tourism

Dehyar of Chaltar Khan village, stating that Rey fire temple, lake, Mahour hill for car and motorcycle tracks are among the attractions of this village, also mentioned the importance of supporting tourism in the villages: In the negotiations I had with an investor It was decided to invest in the tourism sector of the village, but with the increase in the dollar rate and the consequent increase in the price of construction materials and raw materials, he abandoned his decision.

Abbasi said: “There were workshops such as handicrafts, pottery and enameling in this village, which were closed due to the increase in the price of raw materials needed and the inability of workshop officials to provide them, and activists of these departments migrated to other villages and there.” They set up a workshop for the production of flakes and candies, but were unable to produce this product due to the increase in the price of sugar.

He reminded that the owners of other workshops, such as production workshops, have faced problems with the increase in the price of raw materials and the lack of liquidity in supplying the required materials, and the government must provide low-interest facilities for their survival.

Dehyar Zavarehvar from Javadabad district of Varamin city also explained about the problems of income generation in the villages: Although most of the residents of Alaqband village are skilled in producing handicraft products such as wooden products and basket weaving, but those in charge of providing land to create workshops and permits They do not support. On the other hand, the import of similar goods of low quality wood products and cheaper prices has also dealt a great blow to the activists of this industry.

According to Arab Ameri, although in the industrial sector, workshops such as the production of auto parts, metal and decorative furniture have provided good employment for the villagers, but the waste of these workshops pollutes the environment and air.

He also referred to the tourism capacities of the village and said: government officials or investors by investing in this field and the existing potentials in the village, in addition to creating employment, can prevent the migration of villagers and people who migrate to the villages of Tehran in the same Work places to reduce traffic.

The importance of reviewing the issue of planning and development document of Tehran province

Considering the migration of a large number of job seekers to Tehran who need shelter, it seems that the province’s development document should be reviewed.

The acting deputy for coordination of civil affairs of Tehran province confirmed this issue and referring to the dormitory of some villages of Tehran province for immigrants, said: the issue of turning the villages of the province into dormitories for immigrants has been transferred to the Management and Planning Organization as one of the important concerns. And in the planning plan of the province, a study and a plan will be presented on this subject.

“Abed Maleki” added: with the concentration of services and industry in Tehran province, job seekers migrate to the capital, this population needs shelter for themselves and their families, so the issue of planning and development document should be reconsidered and evaluated again. To take.
