Tourism capacities have been neglected

According to the Heritage Aria reporter, the 18th meeting of the delegation of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture was held in the presence of Engineer Seyed Ezatollah Zarghami, Minister of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts, and Ali Asghar Shalbafian, Deputy Minister of Tourism, this morning.
Gholamhossein Shafei, head of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, also praised the presence of the Minister of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts among the private sector family, saying: “Tourism has been neglected for years and the capacities of this field have not been used as they should be.”
Pointing to the importance of paying attention to cultural heritage and historical monuments, he added: “The corona outbreak has bankrupted the industry and left activists in the field seemingly helpless. “Reviving this area requires action-based, science-based measures.”
“If the potentials are changed by approaching and planning, we will see a great change in this area,” Shafei continued.
The head of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce expressed hope that this change would take place during the term of Engineer Zarghami.
We are waiting for a fundamental change in the ministry
Ali Akbar Abdolmaleki, head of the Tourism and Related Businesses Commission of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, referring to Zarghami’s experiences and creativity in the past, added: “It is expected that a fundamental change will take place in this ministry during your ministry.”
“There is no better alternative to tourism with the depletion of oil reserves,” he said.
The head of the Tourism and Related Businesses Commission of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce pointed to the use of the capacities of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce of other countries to introduce Iran and its attractions in the international arena, which can lead to positive events with purposeful planning.
Abdul Maleki also referred to religious tourism as a capacity, saying, “In this type of tourism, we need new and deconstructive laws. “With the cooperation of authorities and scholars, the Chamber of Commerce, the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, and the formation of a tourism jurisprudence committee, strategies for sustainable development can be identified and implemented.”
He also suggested making use of the Chamber of Commerce’s capacity for tourism research, working with education to define tourism-related courses for students.
In this meeting, four tourism activists expressed their concerns and suggestions.
