Transporting goods from China to Uzbekistan via the new rail route


According to Fars news agency’s correspondent in Tashkent, the press department of “Uzbek Railways” joint-stock company announced: China has transferred a cargo of goods to Uzbekistan through the new “Longfang-Kashghar-Irkishtam-Osh-Tashkent” railway.

This report added: This container train includes 41 wagons carrying construction materials. The total weight of the cargo is one thousand tons. The distance to the destination station is about 6000 km, which takes about 12 days. Currently, this (land) route is the shortest and fastest route to send goods from China to Uzbekistan.

The cargo will be transported through the new multimodal corridor from the origin by rail to the station “Kashghar” (China). Then the cargo is transported to the “Osh” railway station (Kyrgyzstan) by road. From there, the cargo is transported to Tashkent by rail.
