Turkmenistan: TAPI project to start in Herat in 6 months

According to Fars News Agency’s Afghanistan website, the TAPI project was inaugurated for the first time in the previous government with the presence of the presidents of Afghanistan, India, Pakistan and Turkmenistan. But after the opening of this yard project, it remained only on paper and no practical work was done.
After the new government came to power in Afghanistan, efforts were resumed to launch this important project, and consultations have been held with the Turkmen side.
The press office of the governor of Herat announced that during the recent meeting of Turkmen officials with the governor of Herat, the practical work of the TAPI project is scheduled to begin soon.
“Turkmen officials are ready to start the TAPI project as soon as possible,” said Mohammad Murad Amanov, executive director of the TAPI project. Implement the project.
He added: “Turkmen officials have only been waiting for the completion of land acquisition in Afghanistan, and then the project will begin in earnest.”
On the other hand, the ambassador of Turkmenistan, Khawaja Awadev, said: “This year, the TAPI project will be implemented by the Turkmen authorities, and in addition to this project, studies have been carried out to build a gas pipeline to the Herat industrial town.”
He added: “The Afghan side must do the work of acquiring the lands in accordance with international standards.”
Maulana Nuruddin Ahmad Islam Jar, the governor of Herat, said in a meeting with Turkmen officials: “The citizens of Herat have looked at the TAPI project, which is a window of hope and progress in Afghanistan, and hope that this project will be implemented soon.”
He emphasized: the officials of the Taliban government are going to introduce the representative of Kandahar province soon to advance the work of TAPI.
The governor of Herat said: “The local administration will hand over the land acquisition plan for the TAPI project to the Turkmen authorities as soon as possible, and we ask the Turkmen side to start the practical work of this important project in Afghanistan.”
It is worth mentioning that the citizens of Herat, however, are complaining about the increase in poverty and unemployment and are asking the local authorities to start development projects; With the start of the TAPI project in Afghanistan, thousands of citizens will be employed.
