Two male actors filed a complaint against Alidousti’s song for defamation and publication of falsehoods

According to Fars news agency, in April 1401, about 800 women cinematographers issued and signed the “statement of women working in cinema in protest against violence against women in this field” and demanded the formation of a committee to deal with women’s complaints about sexual violence in cinema, and finally decided on it. It was decided that the handling of women’s demands and violence and harassment against female activists in the cinema would be followed up by an independent committee, and to prevent any violation of rights, five representatives were elected from this campaign. Voting was done among the women who signed the statement of protest against sexual and gender violence in cinema and theater with the presence of 13 candidates and at the end of the day, Taraneh Alidousti, Samia Mirshamsi, Ghazaleh Motamed, Hanieh Tusli and Maral Jirani were selected as five members of the delegation that formed a committee. Follow up independently to investigate sexual misconduct.

Now, one of the five main members of this committee, namely Taneh Alidousti, today, July 8, 1401, on his virtual page, filed a complaint against Mehdi Koshki (director, actor and playwright of theater and cinema), and Habib Rezaei (actor and director) for defamation and The publication of falsehoods reported against him.

He wrote on his virtual page: “You may be interested to know that two complaints against me have been registered with the judiciary. On behalf of Mr. Habib Rezaei and Mehdi Koshki. Charge? Defamation and publication of lies.

While knowing the right of our activities these days, as a representative of more than eight hundred female cinemagoers, I will gladly defend myself in this regard and stand by my positions. What is the part?

It’s good that we will all be accountable in the court of history. I hope we stand on the right side of history.”

According to Fars report, some critics have pointed out the contradictions of Alidousti’s behavior and his presence at the 75th Cannes Film Festival and expressing political words on the one hand and the publication of a story about the actors of the film “Leila Brothers” and the presence of two of the men accused of harassment in This story is considered the beginning of the deviation in the MeToo movement.

At the same time as Alidousti’s behavior at the Cannes Film Festival, a number of female filmmakers, including Mastane Mohajer, Hengameh Ghaziani, Panthea Bahram and Hoda Zainul Abedin, withdrew their signatures from the statement in protest. Their criticism was for accusing male cinemagoers without providing documents and evidence and before proving the crime. Some actors also believed that relevant institutions such as the cinema house, the cinema organization and the judiciary should take the initiative and enter into these issues.

It should be noted that on July 1st, Mrs. Ansieh Khazali, the Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, in a conversation with the “Sinmachi” radio program with the topic “Review of the text and margins of the me too movement in Iranian cinema”, in relation to the follow-ups of the Vice President for Women’s Affairs in relation to He spoke about this issue and invited these people to attend the Vice-Chancellor of Women and Family Affairs.

Finally, it seems that the release of this news by Alidosti’s song will give new dimensions to the activities of this campaign. Habib Rezaei and Mehdi Kushki have not yet reacted to this issue.
