According to Mehr News Agency, at the end of the preliminary matches of the first five weights, in which 6 representatives of our country were present, Mohammad Reza Shakri in the weight of 65 kg and Homan Behzadpour in the weight of 86 kg made it to the finals.
Ali Momeni and Ebrahim Khovari in 57 kg weight, Ebrahim Elahi and Armin Habibzad in 65 kg weight are also present in the losers group.
The results of the representatives of our country are as follows:
57 kg: After resting in the first round, Ali Momeni won in the second round due to the absence of Alexandrov from Russia. In the next round, he lost 5-0 against wrestling from Russia. After taking a break in the first round, Ibrahim Khovari, another representative of our country, defeated Okhlopukov from Russia in the second round with a score of 10-0, and in the third round he passed the other barrier of the Russian opponent with a score of 10-0. In the fourth round, he lost against an opponent from Russia with the result 4:4. Two representatives of our country went to the losers group due to the presence of their opponents in the final match.
In the weight of 65 kg, Armin Habibzadeh defeated Gulaev from Russia with a technical kick in the first round. Mohammadreza Shakri, another representative of our country, defeated Makarov from Russia with a score of 10:5. Habibzadeh and Shakri faced each other in the next round, which ended with a score of 9:1 in favor of Shakri. In the third round, he passed the Abrahamian barrier from Armenia with a score of 5-0 and made it to the semi-final stage. At this stage, Shakri passed his opponent’s barrier with a score of 10-0 and went to the final match. In the first round, Ibrahim Elahi defeated Khalgayev from Russia with a score of 10:0. He defeated Russia in the second round with a score of 8:2. In the third round, Elahi lost 5-3 against Avtisian from Armenia. And due to the presence of his opponent in the final match, he went to the losers group to win the bronze medal. In this weight, due to Shakri’s presence in the final match, Habibzadeh went to the losers group.
In the weight of 86 kg, Homan Behzadpour defeated Balzhinimayev from Russia in the first round with a score of 10-0. In the second round and in the quarter-final stage, he passed Mamedov’s barrier from Russia with a score of 10-0 and went to the semi-finals. In this stage, Behzadpur defeated Russia with a score of 10-0 and qualified for the finals.
According to the schedule of these competitions, the 57, 65, 74, 86 and 92 kg competitions will be held on March 19 and 20, and the 61, 70, 79, 92 and 125 kg competitions will be held on March 20 and 21.
