However, he continued to explain that the Ukrainian forces have not yet completed all the courses related to the correct use of weapons donated by the West to this country. Rezhnikov emphasized that the announcement equipment has been partially prepared and delivered, but the training program for the hardware of military items has not yet been fully completed.

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine noted, however, that Kiev’s preparations for launching these counterattacks are almost complete.

For months, Ukrainian and Western sources have speculated about the beginning of a series of counter-attacks by Ukrainian forces against Russia in the spring. Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia emphasized that such open speculations in Western countries about expectations for a counterattack against Russia confirm the direct involvement of Western countries in the Ukraine war.

On Tuesday last week, the New York Times newspaper reported that the Ukrainian forces are planning to launch attacks in the southern regions of the country, which have fallen into the hands of Russia, quoting confidential documents of the US Department of Defense that have recently been released on the Internet.

The newspaper said that, according to American sources, the Ukrainian army must train 12 combat brigades consisting of 4,000 troops for each brigade to carry out such attacks.
