According to Mehr News Agency, citing Kyiv Independent, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine announced that the country is considering imposing other sanctions in the field of trade and investment against Tehran.
In line with the West, Ukraine’s Minister of Economy, Yulia Sviridenko, repeated the claims against Iran regarding the supply of weapons from Tehran to Moscow, and said: “Unfortunately, our and our partners’ previous sanctions against individuals and companies directly involved in the supply of weapons to Russia have been taken seriously as a warning.” It didn’t happen.
He added: “Supporting the aggressor will not go unpunished and Ukraine is trying to bring together as many countries as possible to make decisions about imposing additional sanctions.”
According to the press office of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the proposed sanctions will be applied for a period of 50 years. These sanctions include banning the transfer of technology and intellectual property rights to Iranian citizens, as well as investment in this country or electronic payments to it. In addition, sanctions have been imposed against Tehran in the field of commercial activities.
Iran and Russia have repeatedly denied Moscow’s claims of arms supply and the Islamic Republic has emphasized that it has not sold or handed over any drones or weapons to Russia for use in the war against Ukraine.
