According to the Mehr news agency, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s representative in the Vienna talks, reacted to the payment of Iran’s membership fee to the UN from the place of blocked money in South Korea and wrote in a Twitter message: This action (blocking Iranian money) is illegal and It violates international law. Iran’s assets have been frozen in its banks as a result of the threat of sanctions against South Korea. This is cruel and practically an example of robbery.

He made the remarks in response to a tweet stating that the Central Bank and the National Iranian Oil Company were under sanctions under the label of terrorism.

Russia and China have repeatedly criticized US moves to impose secondary sanctions to disrupt trade with countries outside of Washington.

The Washington administration is using the dollar as a tool of pressure, threatening to cut off access to Swift’s financial system, further straining its economy.

Seoul announced yesterday that $ 18 million of Iran’s arrears had been paid to the United Nations from its blocked assets with South Korean banks.

On January 11, the United Nations suspended Iran’s voting rights due to its arrears.
