Unique pigeon houses of 10 and 18 pigeons in Mobarakeh

The head of the Department of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of Mobarakeh said: The pigeon houses of 10 and 18 pigeons in the beautiful city of Zebashahr are among the masterpieces of Iranian architecture, and we are trying to register these valuable works in the world. And the 18 beautiful towers of the city in Mobarakeh belong to the Qajar period, which were registered in the list of national monuments of Iran under numbers 19072 and 19046 in 2006, and the architecture of these two pigeon houses is one of the original masterpieces of Iranian architecture, which is unique in its kind. . The use of these pigeon houses is cylindrical and its architecture is such that the manure produced from pigeons is used for agricultural purposes.
He added: This fertilizer has also been used in the tanning industry and gunpowder manufacturing. The architecture of these monuments is such that it creates a safe environment for pigeons. The type of nests of these pigeon houses are very beautifully and neatly designed, and its materials are made of straw, which is very cool in summer, and its architecture is in such a way that the wind flows in its space, and in winter, it is warm and safe from cold winds.
Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Department of Mobarakeh said that the diameter of the holes of these pigeon houses are designed so that only pigeons can enter them, and said: Invading birds such as hawks, hawks and crows cannot enter the pigeon houses through these holes. This type of architecture exists in all pigeon houses in the country. Also, a white shawl or band is installed around these pigeon houses, which is made of white plaster, which is used in such a way that reptiles such as snakes cannot enter the pigeon house due to its polished surface.
The leader stated: Among the actions we took in 2015 and 2016, we restored these two pigeon houses and we are looking to get these two pigeon houses of 10 pigeons and 18 pigeons of Zebashahr into the world register, which of course are steps to get them into the world register. Pigeon houses in Isfahan province have been completed.
He said: There is a dovecote in Kilsan village in Flowerjan city, which has 36 pigeons, which probably does not exist in Iran. Most of the pigeon houses in Isfahan are located on the banks of the Zayandeh Rood River due to their agricultural use.

Stating that there are about 20 pigeon houses in Mobarakeh, the leader noted: the unique architecture of the pigeon houses in Iran is famous and its construction is unique in the world, that is why we are seeking to register the pigeon houses in the world. Renovation of these two pigeon houses of 10 and 18 pigeons is on the agenda due to the arrival of domestic and foreign tourists.
