United Nations: The end of the Covid-19 pandemic is in sight

According to IRNA, quoted by the AFP news agency; Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization affiliated to the United Nations, said: The number of people infected with Covid-19, which has killed millions of people since it was identified in late 2019, has decreased significantly and reached its lowest level last week. It has arrived since March 2020.
He added: We have never been in a better position to end this epidemic. Although this disease is not over yet, its end is in sight and the world should make more use of this opportunity. If we don’t take advantage of this opportunity now, we will be exposed to more strains of the corona virus, which will mean more deaths, disruptions and instability.
According to the latest report of the World Health Organization about Covid-19, the number of people infected with this disease in the week ending September 4 has reached 4.2 million 200 thousand people, with a 12% decrease compared to the previous week.
Stephen Dujarric, the spokesperson of the United Nations, expressed hope that world leaders will find solutions to the problems of the current and future generations at the 77th General Assembly of the United Nations this year.
He said: We hope that the member states of the United Nations will be able to find solutions for the problems of the current and future generations in a cooperative atmosphere, even if they disagree in many areas.
The UN spokesperson added: The world’s problems and challenges cannot be solved alone. Multifaceted problems require multifaceted solutions. The world is full of problems and all these problems are related. If we look around the world, we will see that the problems and challenges are not few, such as climate change, war and hunger.
Guterres’ spokesperson continued: Multilateral problems usually require multilateral solutions and the situation is difficult in all aspects. Both from a human and political and human development point of view, there are clearly glimmers of hope.
