Unveiling of the documentary “Today’s Story of Amr and Nehi” / Fahim: The real audiences of cinema are people all over the world

According to the reporter of Fars news agency radio and television, the launch meeting of the documentary “Today’s story of command and prohibition”, a narrative about the management of Iranian cinema in the 60s, was held this morning with Mohammad Taqi Fahim, a critic of cinema and television, and Hojat al-Islam Jalil Mohebi, the former secretary of the command staff. Famous and prohibited from the negative, director Mohammad Hadi Nemati and producer Ehsan Shadmani, the documentary “Today’s Story of Amr and Nahi” was held in Shahada Media building.
Mohammad Taghi Fahim, a film and television critic, said at the beginning of this meeting: What has caused us to face a castrated and characterless cinema today is the result of the same events that happened at the beginning of the revolution and caused the removal of a part of the cinema body that could serve Iranian cinema and Islamic revolution. In the documentary “Today’s Story of Command and Prohibition” people like Mohsen Makhmalbaf, who were Israeli soldiers in the present time and were abused by people and currents behind the scenes, are discussed.
* The real audience of the cinema is the people
Fahim continued: At the beginning of the revolution, cinema took Eastern European and Russian cinema as its model. This form of cinema went into decline. In this regard, it is natural that the current state of Iranian cinema is chaotic. The reason is that the cultural leaders were strangers to cinema at the beginning of the revolution. At that time, it was said that the audience is not important for cinema and that cinema should have an elite audience, while the real audience of cinema is people all over the world.
Cinema without a hero has distanced itself from the people
He added: “If a movie cannot entertain and keep the audience, it will be useless for these casual gatherings.” But about the extremisms at the beginning of the revolution, I must also say that there are such extremisms in all revolutions. At that time, some directors were foreign to the culture, including clerics and Muslim children who were foreign to cinema. Cinema needs a hero. A cinema without a hero has distanced itself from the people. At the beginning of the revolution, we alienated people from the cinema by removing some characters. At the same time, we could not find suitable replacements for those figures.
*Since the 70s, we have seen party cinema
This film critic further pointed out: cinema is for normal people and people want heroes and stories to watch movies. After the political changes of the 70s, we see party cinema whose function is to make a statement. People who are looking for political work and human rights, but popular cinema should have people who like it.
* Movies that have nothing to do with society
Fahim continued: Currently, films are being made that have practically nothing to do with society. There is a big difference between being a celebrity and being popular, the same issue that was not separated at the beginning of the revolution. We haven’t been able to make a movie that the people of the world will be interested in. Iranian cinema is only limited to certain people, this is a serious problem. People’s cinemas should be for people.
Mohammad Hadi Nemati, the director of the documentary “Today’s Story of Prohibition and Prohibition”, said in relation to this work: This documentary is a trilogy, which is in 3 areas of cinema and art, politics and economy, and only one of its parts is narrated in the area of political currents. .
Hojjat al-Islam Jalil Mohebi, the former secretary of the headquarters of the command for good and forbidding evil, also said in the continuation of the meeting: In 2017, I suggested a researcher to research the issue of command and prohibition in cinema. It gave me a very interesting product that could not be published. At that time, you would come to the conclusion that it was as if some people deliberately entered in that era so that the command of good and the prohibition of evil would not be in place. Finally, it was decided to produce a documentary about those who became intellectuals from 76 onwards and followed a different method at the beginning of the revolution.
* It is known that this is the most political ruling of Shia
He further stated: In these 40 years, no one has stood as much as the officials of the Islamic Republic in front of commanding good and forbidding evil, because none of them are satisfied to start this work by themselves. While enjoining good and forbidding evil is the most political rule of Shia jurisprudence, and Imam Khomeini established a link between mysticism and jurisprudence.
* Karbala is known as the great thing in history
The former secretary of the Headquarters for the Good and the Prohibition of Evil added: We have a great good in history and that is Karbala. In a survey, 13% of the respondents believed that after hearing the name of Karbala, they remembered the Ashura uprising; That is, 13 percent have a correct view of Ashura uprising. At present, popularization has turned from a political act to a cultural one, while the dominant adverb of popularization is politics.
