US-British Foreign Secretary talks on Vienna-Ukraine talks

The US State Department said in a statement on Saturday evening that Blinken had discussed with his British counterpart the strong and common concerns about a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine in the coming days.
According to the statement, the US Secretary of State stressed the importance of working with NATO allies and US European partners in the region to impose rapid and severe costs on Russia in response to any possible invasion of Ukraine.
The State Department said in a statement that the US and British foreign ministers also discussed continuing international efforts to engage in meaningful dialogue with Russia on mutual security concerns in a way that would lead to a diplomatic solution.
According to the statement, Blinken stressed that any decision made by the United States in Europe will be made in consultation with allies and partners.
The State Department said in a statement that the two sides also discussed the negotiations between Britain and the European Union on the implementation of the Northern Ireland Protocol and the preservation of the achievements of the Belfast Agreement.
According to a State Department statement, Blinken and his British counterpart also discussed the importance of achieving a successful outcome in negotiations with Iran on a reciprocal return to full implementation of the UN Security Council.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken also spoke with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the same time as his country’s anti-Russian stance on Ukraine, saying that Moscow needed to enter the talks in good faith in order to reduce tensions.
The State Department said Blinken had made it clear that the diplomatic path to resolving the crisis was still open, but that it needed to ease tensions with Moscow and enter into negotiations in good faith.
US President Joe Biden on Thursday called on Americans living in Ukraine to leave the country.
US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan also claimed on Friday that we are in a situation where an attack on Ukraine could happen at any time if Russian President Vladimir Putin decides.
Biden’s national security adviser said: “I want to make it clear that every American in Ukraine must leave the country within the next 24 to 48 hours as soon as possible. Obviously, we can not predict the future.
“We do not know exactly what is going to happen, but now the danger is high enough and the threat is urgent enough,” Sullivan said.
The White House national security adviser claimed that if Russia invaded Ukraine, it would likely start with airstrikes and missile strikes that could clearly kill civilians regardless of their nationality. The next attack will involve the attack of a large ground force.
Bloomberg’s website also quoted informed officials as saying that Russia’s actions could include provoking the Donbass region or attacking the capital Kiev. Any action by Russia could begin on Tuesday.
